I got some from my local store, Saga brand economy tuners. I like them but he is all out and they are on order. Were do you folks get them cheap enough to buy a few extra? By the way I already checked out E bay and the cheap ones come from Hong Kong and the rest charge way to much shipping. Thanks!
I also found some at Elderly Music, has anyone bought from them?

I bought tuners from Elderly, Stewart-MacDonald (StewMac) and from the guitar shop around the corner. Shipping is no joke. You can spend almost as much on the shipping as the tuners themseves! So even if the neighborhood guitar shack charges a couple bucks extra, it's a deal. I think my StewMac tuners were Saga, come to think of it. I'm using the Elderly tuners on my latest.

An odd feature in them is they have TWO holes in the tuning peg, one right down by the bushing. I don't know why. I've been pounding on these tuners for a week now and haven't broken them. Not Gotoh, but will be worth what I paid for them.
I have been using the ones from Stew Mac with pretty good success.

Michael, are you sure you didn't miss this guy on ebay?
Box of 10 tuners, $8.70 including shipping from Saint Petersburg, Fl.

I have just ordered from him today, so I can't speak to quality or shipping time. He does have perfect feedback though.
I did not see that one but, I only need 3 per guitar so 5 on a side wont cut it. Good price though.

they have two holes so you can mount them like you did, or like this:

I have bought Ping at Elderlys. I have them on my latest build. I am very happy with them. Tuners, in general, are so much money. I have not used any higher dollar tuners so I may not be seeing the whole picture. I have to say that the Pings have been very good for $18 bucks for six. I bought them at the Elderly store so I don't know how much shipping is or if it would have affected my opinion.
IMHO .... ( I like typing that .... )
The best cheap tuners I have found new are Grover Original Sta-tite's. Stewmac sells them as geared uke tuners.
The only problem I had ... they were shorter than normal (5/8 ths). Not a problem really if you know in advance.
Other than that ... used from a Mom'n'pop. Gotoh, Grover, whatever. Good and cheap, inexpensive.

I buy mine at www.pickerparts.com economy telecaster style, they offer discounts on 3 and 6 sets,
Bart Hopkin's site, Experimental Musical Instruments.

I've ordered the sealed tuners and they are nice solid tuners. Plus you can order what you want individually and don't need to purchase a set. You just specify 3 lefts and 5 rights or whatever you need.
i just ordered these :
