So, Im walking the dogs. In the roadside trash is a base for a projection TV. Inside are 2 4x6 , 8 ohm 10w full range, magnetically shielded speakers, like new. Home, drilldriver, car,yes baby, 1 min. ahead of the trash truck....SCORE!!!

It is pretty much finished. Turned out about as planned so I'm happy. May modify in the future. It was def. low budget. $3. for the box,$2. for piezo, and the rest found in the shed.

Low budget bass ideas? Found the coolest box today, of a good size. Kind of long and narrow. I think it had smoked salmon in it cause it has Inuit art designs printed on the top. I'm feeling like it would make a cool bass, maybe an upright even, but I wanna keep it cheap! I'm a Tabula Rasa.

Wow, so glad to be here among kindred spirits. I think the less I've spent on a build the more I enjoy it. I'm always checking out thrift shops, yard sales, and or course roadside on trash day! Made friends w/ a lovely young lady that works at a cigar shop, and she has given me all my boxes for free! (so far, I take my builds over and play her a tune so she knows I'm not just re-selling the boxes!) My latest find was two chrome moon hubcaps about 8-9" across on the edge of the Interstate, during a full moon! Thats Mojo!

In building my first CBG this group provided a lot of help, especially for the tuners - although I ended up coming up with my own way to get it done using t-bolts and wing nuts (see photo). The wing nuts aren't necessary for the top two tuners, but the bottom t-nuts happened to line up too well.

I made several of these fret saws from scrap.
