Very cool bridge design.

Yep, that's the same disks I use. If a firm tap doesn't break the neck off, make the score a bit deeper and try again.

The best method I've used so far is to use a cutting disk on a dremel tool. Keep cutting around then neck until you have a notch cut all the way around it. Gently tap the rim on a firm surface (I use my workbench with an old towel on it). If it does…

Very nice detail. I never thought to check out the thrift store for parts. One more thing on my "too do" list.

I just picked up a box identical to this one last night. It's a nice thick-walled box; well build. I'll be happy if my build comes out half as good as yours, Tom!

As always, beautiful work Tom.

Looks like it's going to be a nice uke. Can't wait to see the finished product. Personally I wouldn't worry about it bending uneven. That just gives it character.

Nice build! How did you do the neck-through design with the magnetic pickup?

Hey Steve! - Thanks for all the nice comments on the recent build. I think you'll really like working with that box. It does have a nice thick wall for support, but the top & bottom are thin enough for good resonance. Good luck. Can't wait to see the photos when it's done. Take care! - Tom
