Just wondering if anyone has used the inlay stickers from ebay ? If you have , what did you think of them?

Hi,

If you mean these http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Glow-dark-fret-markers-cool-looking-EZ-apply-...
I have used them several times - they stick well and I put a coat of nail varnish over the top of them (I haven't had any fall off yet in about 2 years). You get large for the fretboard and small ones for the side of the neck - low price, easy to put on and they glow in the dark - also a good ebay seller.

Regards,
David
Yea Kind of like those . here are the ones I was looking at. http://cgi.ebay.com/Custom-Dots-5-16-AG-Fret-Markers-Inlay-Sticker-...
I placed an order about a week ago. I'll let you know how it goes and what I think when they arrive. Also, you save a few bucks on shipping if you buy directly from his sight. http://www.inlaystickers.com/servlet/StoreFront. They ship form Hong Kong
Cool let us know how they work out.
I punch out 1/4" pieces of heavy celluloid pics and glue them into shallow 1/4" holes done with a forstner bit. That's the ticket.

I bought a few glow in the dark sheets form the local fishing store, they sell these to pu on fishing lurs.
I punched them out with a paper punch but you could cut them to any shape you want.
About $3 for 3 sheets, enough for more CBG than I would ever build. Might be wort checking out, saves on shipping and such. Cheers Ron
I prefer the real thing because I want something that will last. I bought several sets of 5mm Abalone so they look proportionately correct to the 1.5 inch wide neck. And AJ is a great guy. There was a mixup with my order and he called me to make sure what the order consisted of. He's got several left. Tell him I sent ya.

I just burn my markers in on the fingerboard, on the sides I have used toothpicks and bamboo skewers pushed into holes. Old school.
I do the same as Wes; I punch 1/4" circles from flatpicks (Fender large triangles give you lots) and drill a precise hole with a forstner bit in a drill press. They look quite professional.
Well call it cheating or call it what you will, but if you are looking to do a fancy fingerboard this is the only way to do it in about 5 minutes. Looks great and you'd be hard pressed to tell they're stickers!

I would be worried about longevity. Im building my guitars to last, I'd be afraid the glue would give out over time. —B
I guess time will tell... So far not worried about them coming off. Could always put a coat of clear satin over it. For 6 bucks it was worth a try and I am very pleased with the results.
