Why not add both? If you add a 3 way switch for a mag pup and a piezo (or 5 way if you have 2 mag pups plus piezo) you have the option of either or both at the same time - I did a quick amateur video to show the differences (easier than trying to de…

Hi Mark. I loved the "having fun on ebay" link. It is often a good laugh to read some of the feedback people give - I recall someone paying £10 for a guitar then giving the seller negative feedback because it looked cheap and best of all time was a…

If you are finding the credit crunch is putting pressure on your wallet you can always opt for the 4 string CBG they are selling. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Delta-Blues-slide-tenor-box-dobro-lap-banjo-parlor_W0QQitemZ310205589515QQcmdZViewItemQQptZUK_Mus

Hi Fergus, I always wire mine in parallel because if one breaks the other(s) will still work. Also in series the impedance increases with each additional piezo (and as thay are high impedance to begin with most articles state this is not a good ide…

Hi Peter, Seymour Duncan are great diagrams you can search here http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/ you click on the "make your selection" arrow and it will give a host of options. I have also used the ones from artec sound http://…

Hi Peter, You are most welcome. Have you thought of adding a piezo also? All you need extra is a piezo and 3 way switch. You then wire as for a telecaster (see wiring diagrams http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/cbgwiringelectronics/forum/topics/wir

Hi Peter, If you go to this link down the right hand side is a good capacitor guide http://www.axesrus.com/axeElectronicsCaps.htm I realise you are not UK based but you should find them easily on-line. When you solder a cap it is often advised that…

Hi David,
Thanks for the comment!
The repair is going fine so far, added a pickup tone and vol and just starting to flip it to left hand now...think i am going to either try a new nut or maybe just file it...not quite sure yet...lovely tone on it...even with a repaired neck.

Yeah, I've got some super slinkys on my headless thing at the moment, but really don't like them and will put some fatter ones on soon. The internal stuff is secured to the box by the screws that hold on the bridge, and the block that runs down the middle that the neck bolts onto is attached to the same bit of wood that the bridge screws onto, as well as being screwed onto the the bit of wood that the tuners sit on. This way the box takes none of the pressure and i an confident i can put on some fatter strings. Another good thing is that nothing is glued onto the box so i can dismantle it to replace the pickups or tuners. I am also going to put some piezo transducers in it, which is what my questions were about and your advise was useful for that!

Hi David,
Thanks for the comments on the Twins.
I got the pup surrounds from an ebay seller in the US.
I have posted this link for you.

Hi Tim,
Thank you for the kind words.
The neck is off a strat copy and the sound holes are large grommets for curtains bought from this UK company
http://www.curtaingenius.co.uk/shop/products_detail.asp?prod=1830
I have seen similar ones in UK shops selling curtains so you should find similar in the USA.
Regards,
David
