i built a diddley bow and im now making some adjustments on it. I found this pickup and it only looks like it have one wire coming from it. i thought there were supposed to be at least two wires coming from these? maybe a red and a black. if you scroll down the page, it looks as though one pickup has a red wire and the other has a black. i dont want to ask the seller about it because he might lie to me just for me to buy the thing. what do you guys think? and is there a thread showing people how to solder a pickup to an audio jack?

thanks!

mike,i think you will find that pup does have 2 wires inside 1 sheath, kinda like anntenna wire

now that i look at it closer i think i do see two wires coming out of the black and red covers. guess i just didnt look hard enough.

it has  2  wires  in the  sleeve    . its     fine

Don't know what you guys think you are  seeing, but it's just regular shielded hook-up wire, like most pickups - one insulated inner (live) with an outer shielding (ground). Not quite sure how you'll place this under the string for a diddley bow in terms of which poles you'll line up under the strings, but I'm sure it will work! Wiring to a regular 1/4 jack is simple - solder the inner wire to the lug with makes contact with the tip , outer shield wire goes to the ground lug, ground the strings and you're good to go.

think that,s what i said john

yup.

where could I get an audio jack that has a wire connected to it that doesn't have another jack of some kind attached at the opposite end?

That's a good price for a pair of general purpose humbuckers, but why not use something like this? It's a single pole hand wound pcikup I made for this diddly bow hockey stick cbg.

how'd you do that?

you can research pickup winding on Youtube...or ask someone to make it for you. perhaps

so I looked up pickup winding on youtube like u said and right now im not feeling like going to all that trouble. I would rather just buy the ones I posted form ebay. lol
