Regular magnetic pickups haven't always worked well with acoustic strings. The lower wound strings have weaker output than the higher solid strings. Results are solid strings that are considerably…Continue

Paul Craig replied to Kirk's discussion Less neck shaping for a faster build time?
"Yes your right about coming from a guitar background, you end up trying to make every neck like a guitar neck.  The thing about these CBG necks is they don't need to be tapered since they have less width and the shape can be larger to make…"

Paul Craig replied to Mike Whitney's discussion Wiring help?
"That's a good idea Darryl. Some pots have a tab on the side or top edge to keep the pot from spinning around, but they hardly get used these days. That makes a great place to solder grounds to as well if your not using the tab as intended."

Paul Craig replied to Joe Nanzer's discussion Zero fret?

Thanks, I am mostly just making them for the fun of it and the art part, I don't plan nor want to sell too many as it will get in the way of building guitars, But I do want to make a webpage soon and have the different arts on display, Thanks again and keep in touch!...John

Paul - I definitely want to follow your progress on this new amp circuit you're building.  May be interested in one down the road, but now I've got too many projects going on.  Most are NOT amps, but I've got the guts for a couple of those as well.  Keep me & the nation posted!

Thanks for the info buddy. That's good to know, I'm still new to this building thing. Just learn as I go. It's been fun!!!  I made a banjo neck out of popular, it's about 1 1/2 thick it's ok so far. I do like the red oak and maple. I wonder if red bud would be ok?

That's what this neck is. I made a poplar neck for another build I did. It came out nice.
