hey Neil just a great imagination is all it is..lol. You got some cool lookin builds, like non cigar box ones the best.
Hi Neil,
Hope all is OK
I haven't been in touch for a while. Long sickness and stuff. We missed the opportunity to have a display early this year, but the Gawler gallery is interested later this year. Now I'm back amongst the living, I'll be on this site much more.
Hi Neil,
How are you going?
its been a while, but I've been mixed up in all kinds of things. I would like to get some pictures together for my blogsite focusing on South Australian builders. If you have some good pictures of your work, I would appreciate the use of them and from others you may know.
Hi Neil,
I'm starting my own blog with the idea of getting Aussies together in an Australian website. There's not much on there yet as I'm still working things out, but the address is http://tinshedvoodoo@blogspot.com. Glad you like the exhibit idea, the gallery was very positive about it. I'm going to poach Ken Bechaz from your list of posts below as he's a Adelaidean too! hope you don't mind :-)
Hi Neil,
sounds positive on the exhibit front. My wife is a curator so she can get direct us on the organisation, so if we can get 4 or 5 people, it would be great. Your work has a very polished look and finish, mine is purposefully made from odd bits and unfinished, each is a work in progress. Its not laziness as some people have, its actually harder not to finish the pieces to as professional as possible. Some other people in between would be good.
Some playing on the night of the opening will be great. How do you feel about the public handling your pieces?
peace
Malx
Hi Neil,
My wife has an art exhibit at Golden Grove Art and Recreation Centre. Talking to the curator about what I do, she was taken by the idea of an exhibit of CBG related material (and sales if the artist is interested), especially as it seems to be a primarily male driven artform. If you're interested, ask around who you know and we'll see if we can do something early next year. Applications need to be in soonish.
What do you reckon?
Hi Neil,
Must get in touch for a coffee or something. Good to know there are other locals.
I like the look of your work, especially that lyre. I've been into CBGs for about 4 months now thanks to John McNair. I took the 'wait and see what drops out of the sky 'method of getting the parts. Eventually get enough to cobble together a 3 string resonator, but thats falling apart now, so onto the next project. This time a banjo! The first one wasn't designed beyond the fact that I knew of John's music and thats telling now.
Glad you like the didjeridoo, thats my pride and joy!
lets catch up some time!
peace
Malcolm
