Cute uke and great story.

I bet she loves that uke for the rest of her life.

Love it. Those fairy's are brilliant. In a pickier context I would tell you your saddle is in backwards but I love the look of it all so much I am going to let it pass. After all, as I tell myself all the time - it's just a ukulele. As long as it sounds OK and there are no sharp edges...

Thanks for the comments Titch. This is the first fretted instrument that I have created. (Second CBG). I had a problem with the intonation and I was wondering why. I've since changed the saddle to a piece of African  Blackwood which has a closer action. I might put the bone saddle back in the right direction to see how it sounds. Cheers!

Yes I know it doesn't have a cigar box, but might I say I am very proud of the brigantine on the headstock

nice  ;-)

Here is baritone uke #2 that I built using a Mike Lowe aluminum resonator cone, Tone Monster passive pick up, Dan Duke maple neck, mahogany fret board, Worth clear fluorocarbon strings, sealed tuners, bone nut and bridge, and hardware from CB Gitty and others. I refinished the Bering Grande box, finished the neck and set the frets, carved the tailpiece, neck joint and the biscuit, and assembled everything using hand instruments and one small freehand drill. Scale length is 19-1/8 inch.

Here are two more photos of my Uke #2. The front probably matters.

That is a work of art...I would be proud of that. ..

Too kind. But thanks!

Nice heal.

So that's what it's called: a heel. Thanks. It is fun to carve wood. Often I have a plan; more often the wood has a better plan.

I'm glad I'm not judging this contest, that's going to be a tough job!
