Hey, I've ran several sites with message/forum boards and have found it's really nice to have the forum/message board broken into sections.. it makes it easier to find specific topics and what not.

Just my two cents, I've found a lot of help on here so far, I just want to help anyway I can.

Y'know, you could be onto something there! I spend mucho time searching for stuff Im sure is on here somewhere, and I really hate having to post a question thats already being answered... which then only adds to the problem!
Isn't that what the groups are for?
is that how the groups work? I just thought since this is a general gathering place for everyone a little less chaos would be a good thing.
I can never decide whether to post in the forum or group section... is there a protocol?
There does seem to be a lot of chaos... I think that's intentional. Fits Shane's personality anyway :o)

I would like to confirm my appreciation of the the manner in which forum members treat we, who ask idiot questions time and time again. You treat us with respect and in a kind and helpful manner.

Thank you.
I like the combination of the groups and open forum. I like that questions/comments/idea come across the front page that I may not have sought out to ask or answer on my own. Sometimes I get reminded of something I was planning or get an answer to a question I didn't know I needed to ask. I've had some luck looking for specific things by using the search tool. I know its not all that accurate but it sometimes gets you going in the right direction.
I agree - I like the forum Qs on the front page too and I like the layout as it is now.... I just worry that in a year or two there will be a hundred groups and a 1000 pages of forum! Or maybe thats the attraction, going over the same questions, but with a continuous supply of new answers?
If I were doing it, I would probably take suggestions as to what general topics would be used and then break the boards into those sections for example:

Tips & Suggestions or Help - where newbs like myself can post and read suggestions to improve their builds
General Life Chat - with posts concerning everything and anything NOT concerning CBG

On the local music website I ran we had board topics such as: Show Postings, Local Music, Gig Swap, Classifieds, General Life, and so on.
