Has anyone shipped a guitar from the US to Australia? I priced out shipping from Phoenix to down under and it was more than the cost of the guitar! Just thought I'd see if anyone has found a cost efficient way of getting one there.

If it's a bolt on neck, remove the neck from the body and ship it in a smaller box.  Other than that, it's all expensive...
Thanks.
I have shipped to Cyprus before and it was kind of pricey, but the customer paid it. I checked for someone in OZ a while back and it was prohibitively expensive.
Ordering a kit would be cheaper... Just find a neck back home.

Had one of Shanes Field Holler guitars shipped to Tasmania.

Can't recall the shipping charge, but I thought it fairly reasonable at the time.

It's also good to support someone who has given a lot to the Cigar Box fraternity.

Also had a 6 string CBG sent from the USA that I bought on eBay....postage was about the same as the guitar, but I needed to see what others were producing at the time before I committed to building my own, as a business.
