This should be easy but for me it's not ...what I have is a 2 piezo setup and a 3 way strat switch..I'll have "no" tone or vol. controls...so it's the 2 piezos into the switch then to the 1/4 in. jack......I just want to switch between the two piezos and the middle be both piezos.......

Thanks....Mike

There are a bunch of wiring diagrams on this site somewhere, but I wasn't able find them quickly. You might also join the wiring group and poke around there, if you haven't already.

But, I did find this one on my PC just now. I think if you hook both black or ground wires from the piezos to the ground on the switch, like in the diagram, then hook up one red wire to each of the outside terminals, and hook up the jack as in the diagram, that should work. I am sure someone will correct me if I am wrong.

I highly recommend the purchase of a multitester, even an inexpensive will help understanding how a switch operates. By using the continuity mode one can check  which position the input will be for output.

Oooo, nice diagram!! Thanks Don, saving that one for future reference.

Thanks a bunch...I have the first Dia.....but could not wrap my brain around all the wires and trying to eliminate the tone and Vol.....then with the explanations and Dons 3 way switch translation Dia...which I did not have, so thank you.....I now understand enough to go on ahead........I do have a multitester, now I need to figure out where I put it......So thanks a ton...Dan and Don......life savers.......welll CBG savers at the least!

I really like those mini on/on/on switches myself.

Hi Michael,

For wiring diagrams I like the artecsound ones - you can download the pdf file here http://www.artecsound.com/wiring/wiring_book01.pdf

just substitute the piezo wires for the magnectic pickups and away you go.  If you want to omit the tone/volume just wire direct from the 3way to to the jack socket for example using the telecaster wiring diagram on page 11.

Otherwise I like the ones on the Seymour Duncan website http://www.seymourduncan.com/support/wiring-diagrams/

Note there are different configurations of lugs on 3 and 5 way switches on the artec and Seymour Duncan site so

Check to see what your switch looks like.

Merry Christmas,

David

Seymour Duncan is the shizzle .... been using them as long as I've been playing!
