Hi, I' not big on tunings although I do use a few. However it will help others if you give an idea of the string configuration's you plan to use, eg: 3-3, 3-4, 3-6, 4-6 etc.

Cheers Taff

Your question, is a double edged sword, lol. Lots of ways to go. One would be a bass, probably 2 stringer, and then maybe a standard 4 string. Then if your recording, you would have both at hand.

Thank's Boys. I'm thinking about 4string open G and open F ...can be a nice combination.
Did someone don that? Greatings

It doesn't matter what someone else has done, it's about what you want. GO FOR IT!!!

I'm with Keith on this. (On most things, it seems) "No rules!" Seems to be the battle-cry around here. I whole-heartedly agree. So many rules everywhere else, this is refreshing. My main suggestion, - Have fun!

One tuned GDG with strings 3,4,5 & one tuned GDB with strings 2,3,4? Norbert, you virtually opened up a huge can of worms with a double neck, I have built a few Bass/Guitar & even Diddley bow double neckers, so really no rules & sky’s the limit. Go for it, I’m sure it will sound great no matter what you decide :)

You could also do a double GDG tuning & put Dulcimer gauge strings on one neck?

Mh, i know,... My Favorit: Open G + open F
...and both 4 string

If that is what you want, sure!

If 4 string, you can set up one neck with the bigger strings for a warm tone & the other with the smaller brighter strings?
