Heres a video of the finished guitar, thanks for the suggestions.!

Is my tailpiece too long? .... I just realized how that sounds, so let me clarify. In the pictures below, you will see my newest build (#4). It is going to be a 24.5 inch scale length, but I'm kinda thinking the tailpiece may be overwhelming.

1. I can cut it down about an inch and make the guitar a 25.5 inch scale length.
2. I can cut it down about an inch and keep the guitar a 24.5 inch scale length.
3. I can cut it down and shorten my neck design.
4. Any ideas you suggest....

Notes on the build....
It's gonna be a 4 stringer for blues. It has the visible humbucker and a Fishman under-sadle pickup. It has volume - blend - tone knobs. Its gonna be my first fretted CBG. I have some bamboo skewers and I plan to lacquer the neck really well after they are installed to give extra longevity. Neck design can be seen in drawing below CB..

You can add a block to the end of the guitar to make the tailpiece move back or add some extra neck to your fretboard to move the bridge forward.
Also seems like you might be able to remove a little of the metal in front of the stringholes on the tail piece.
But for me I think if you extended the stick all the way thru the box you can attatch the tail to that part sticking out and make it sit wherever you want!
Wow... That never even occurred to me.

The drawing was a little off tho, cause the bottom part of the neck that runs to the back of the CB is not high enough to drive the tailpiece screw in. The box and boards are to scale, but the height of the tailpiece is not. I could add another board on top of it and let it stick out the back... (if that makes any sense without me drawing it in?)

Nah, Maybe it's a "prehensile" tail piece.
I'd cut the tailpiece and make a new fold on the cut end to mount it to the box, Daddymojo did that on his Dolerosa Resophonic and it looks very good to me.

You might not need to make it as short on your build as Daddymojo did on that one but you get the idea. Or you could also find one of those Django guitar tailpieces like this one

Ended up doing the tailpiece extension that was suggested by Old Lowe...Thanks. See the video to get an idea how it turned out...
