I just finished the CBG I have been working on over the last few weeks. This was a lot of fun to build and I am already starting on the next one. Please let me know what you think. I tried to use as many hand tools as possible when shaping the neck and headstock. It has a standard Radio Shack piezo, tung oiled poplar neck, red oak fretboard with burned frets and cut down .357 Mag bullet casings for markers. It plays great with a slide. It is loud when played unplugged very nice sound in my opinion, although I have not heard any others in person to compare it to. After I adjusted my amp it sound great plugged in too.

Super nice !! great detail !!!
WOW- I'm not worthy
Very nice build, especially for your first. I admire your patience. It really paid off, as you've got some really nice details on here. I like the recessed jack mount too. Youv'e set a high standard for yourself with this one.
I'll tell you what I think: Holy shit.
i believe it is one of the cleanest builds i have seen.very good quality to the time consuming work involved in the details. the proportions in the design make it very distinguished. if i had to sum it up in 2 words they would be-----ten stars----- keep in mind that is on a 5 star ranking system. great work, looks like you have built many, even though its yer first.
Thank you very much for all of your words of encouragement. It felt good to build something with my own hands again. High School shop class seems so long ago haha
Very nice-

It looks WAY better than ANY of my builds! Beautiful job!

Best regards, Willie
I know I was thinking about this. The bar will be set pretty high for myself I guess. Im starting a new one now and I want to make a more basic CBG because I love that look also. Those were my thoughts going into my first build as well and it kind of turned into something else all together with all the ideas I had. Although I am happy with it, I guess Ill just wait and see how #2 turns out.

love it - fantasic look and I love the use of spent brass - I nick that idea if you don't mind.
yep, she's a beaut!
Just don't use brass too often. What with all the bullshit going on right now, brass is stupid expensive right now. You guys don't even want to know what I spend on a box of .454 brass. Miserable effing government.
