"The pressed paper box should be OK, but I would be concerned that 7/16 was a little too thick to get good vibrations from. I usually try to make sure I have lids that are under 1/4 inch."

CBG

Posted on June 10, 2012 at 2:57pm 2 Comments

I was working on my 2nd CBG when I noticed that the box I am using is not wood but pressed paper about 7/16 thick. Has anyone used something like this? Will it effect the sound??

The only thing I built was a ukulele were I just bolted the neck on. I have always just ran a 1x2 or sculpted a 2x2 straight through When I build my Cbg's.  I know It can be done, Im just dot sure how to do it with out messing with the sound.
