The cigar box guitar is an instrument of pure heritage and primitive grace.  Quadraphonic Octopus understands this history and pedigree

...and politely disregards it all.

Quadraphonic Octopus is the representation of primitive music forthcoming.  We are the voice of tribal shamans of a Mad Max future.  We use cigar box guitars, yet they play no blues.    The juxtaposition of homemade musical implements meshed with circuit bent toys, hackwired loopers and found sounds is an experience desperately needed within the army of cigar box revolutionaries.  QuadOcto is misunderstood even by the so-called "CBG'ers," and yet we take delight in their misunderstandings.  QuadOcto knows that each collection of icons needs a few deviant iconoclasts.  That is our chosen duty.  We shall complete this mission.

Along with our compatriots, The Monks of the New Order, we shall blaze a new tradition of cigar box guitar music, mixing Mid Eastern ragas with avant garde traditions of Cage and Sun Ra and throwing in a dose of ballsy anger.  That which is confounding shall be celebrated.  That which is labeled "outsider" will be welcomed. 

We are Quadraphonic Octopus.  We are the distant future of the cigar box guitar.
