Hey folks.  I'm building a guitar using an old metal oil can.  I've used piezo pick-ups on wooden boxes with good results.  What are people's opinions on using a piezo pickup with a metal can, versus…Continue

I had planned it out so well.  Got six 3-foot-long pieces of 1/4"x2" oak and laminated them together.  As soon as the glue dried I knew it was going to be really strong.  The idea was then to saw the…Continue

"Thanks, folks.  I'd be leaning toward the piezo solution just cuz I know my way around them but The Kid's mag pup approach looks do-able too.  And Kid, the metal bridge idea sounds good too."

Hi Larry, thanks for the warm welcome. I've done only a dozen or so builds some are posted on our web sit and every once and awhile we pull one out for one of our gigs. The pic on my profile is a painted scetch of a performance at the Savana Folk Society where my wife played one of my cb-dulcimers. Thanks again.

Thanks for the welcome!  I got a CBG kit for christmas from the wife.  I have been interested in building guitars my whole life and figure this should be a good kick start.  I'm currently in the fact finding stage but hope to kick off when time allows.  I checked out your pictures you do some beautiful work, man!  I only hope I can come close to that.  I'm sure I'll have tons of questions if you don't mind helping a noob.  Anyhow thanks again!
