When I'm too lazy or in a hurry to make a fret board I buy one from StewMac.com and just glue it to whatever I'm making.  They run from $14 to about $20 from my look just now and if too long you can just cut it off at a fret slot at the top and the scale will still be OK. 

Either that or you can cut it off above a fret and use the slot for a zero fret.

Hi Jefferson, I can build one for ya as well. The black one in my pics on top of the fridge is for sale. I can throw in a piezo with volume and tone or just volume. I need money for parts! Friend me if you r interested.
