Hit on an idea today I wanted to share. I was finishing a build and was looking in my hardware drawer for something to make a bridge. Then it hit ne. I had a box of assorted wooden craft beads. I found a smooth steel rod opened up the holes in the beads to fit. Then I slid the rod through the beads and there it was. What I like is to lower it to the desired height you just sand the bottom of the beads on a strip sander. The flat spot keeps them in place. These beads are cheap and can also be used for control knobs ect. Just wanted to share. HAPPY BUILDING.

Kool, way classier than a bolt with a nut, for sure! Great work Ron!!

My wife used to do lampworking.  She made glass beads over flame.  The rods she formed them on is called a mandrel.  The rod is stainless steel.  I had planned to cut one & partially imbed it into a wooden bridge,  There may be some old, wonky beads around still.

Very nice work! Thanks for the tip.

I have a couple of wooden balls from a couple of Guiness cans I've had for years that I had planned to do this with...
