This guitar is done.

These TVJones Classic pickups are expensive, but they are the best Filtertron type pickups on the market in my opinion with the exception of the original Gretsch HS Filtertron pickups. The pickup heights are about 1/4" from the strings at this point and seems to work great for this guitar. The neck pickup has rich bass tone without getting muddy when you roll the tone back and does the "Woman Tone" very well. The bridge pickup nails that ACDC/Airbourne molten metal treble tone with the tone on full, roll it off a bit and get the typical PAF HB tone. I love these pickups. The Foundry Tone Toaster Bucker pickups that Gitty sells gets close the this sound when adjusted as high as you can get them and you may have to use 1meg pots, but you can get close for a 1/4 of the price.

With the new trussrod, I was able to get good string action all the way up the board without any fret buzz. Yay, but a lot of work.

 It looks very nice now, Paul! Been wanting a Tele in this color,  That's a really good lookin' guitar. Congrats!

Thanks. I've always been a sucker for transparent cherry red on a guitar. This body is like a Tele in some ways and like a LP in others, but has some Strat body contours thrown in and it's 25.5" scale. Apparently, Washburn uses this body style for many of it's models. If you look at a Hanna Montana guitar by Washburn, it's the same body and neck with Tele pickups.

Lots of work, Paul! I remember those, Memphis & Washburn made versions of that body with different headstocks & pickup arrangements back in the 80’s. You can always tell if it’s a Washburn/Guild affiliated model by the Starfire style headstock? The newer Jay Turser models have that style also.  Another thing I remember are those self- destructing truss rods, they were real bad on the low models. Great save!

Thanks, the trussrod was a bit of work, but it's and those Trons are fantastic. I like that headstock design. I saw a Hanna Montana Guitar for sale on FB and it has the exact same design as this one with Tele pickups instead.

 This is the first time I will attempted a fretted build, so I chickened out of the fretting on my first two by buying a cherry and a maple fretted necks from C.B. Gitty. I have four of these shallow, but larger Cohiba boxes and will mount these necks to two of them. The second one, the cherry one will, hopefully, be my first commissioned build. Both will receive one of my home-grown Low-Z pickups. Fingers crossed...
