This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?
I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.
A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

Where's the pic?
After putting that red guitar together I noticed a small hump at the 3rd and 4th frets and had to take the neck apart.
The trussrod was a 2 piece assembly that was welded together at both ends. No wonder the trussrod adjustment screw was stripped. LOL
I ordered a trussrod and dug out a channel for it. now the neck is back together and this "quick and easy guitar mod and fix up"(LOL) will be put back together.
It's always those ones that look like an easy fix that turn out to be a big can of worms.
Sure was glad to see a new post here. Thanks Paul! This thread has been tremendously informative and ... dare I say it, fun! Too bad about the "...big can of worms.". Sounds like you got it under control as always.
Under Control? Bwahahaha.
I've been busy doing house related things like repairing the roof that was leaking and putting screens over open gutter on our patio enclosure. Getting rid of my in laws things that I couldn't sell in a yard sale because we couldn't have yard sales.
Soon I'll get to organize my workshop in the garage and start building again. I have 10 builds waiting for me.
Regal “Le Domino” Vintage Parlor guitar Project. 1930.
This guitar I obtained about thirty years ago, and over the last few months I have restored it to a playable condition. There are a number of these Regal guitars around, some in particularly good nick and many like I received this one…. sad. All seem to attract high dollars.
After viewing dozens of this model guitar online, this one is the only one with the Cuckoo logo on the peghead, and I cannot find the reason for this. It looks to be made from ivory, or a grained plastic. The latter being most likely.
It is built using all solid timbers and built exceptionally light. This one needed top braces inside regluing, bridge and bridge plate repairs, neck binding replaced, tuners [Waverly] repaired, attention to the nut and new bone saddle and bridge pins. The neck was reset to get a nice playable action. Hide glue was used in all repair work.
Frets are good and fingerboard unmarked. However, I did have to reglue and patch [reinforce inside] 900mm of various cracks in the top face.
I did not try to hide the damage once repaired, [its part of its charm] but just make the guitar stable and come alive again. A clean and polish of the body and fingerboard finished the job. It sounds great for a 90-year-old, very loud with good sustain and a nice warm tone.

(Chuckling) Sorry 'bout that, Paul.
Yeh, sounds quite familiar... (looking at a bunch of stuff that needs to go to craigslist or yard sale, or the dump...) Got a few home repairs to do here as well. I have five or six guitars waiting to be built and four of five amp heads and speaker enclosures nearly built, waiting for my circuit board building skills to improve... (chompin' at the bit...)
Hi Paul, yes something wrong with that rod if it is welded so that the nut will not turn. Normally when the nut is turned it shortens, or try's to, the flat bar part. The bar can't move so it bends, and the neck does to. Was it taken out of the neck and modified by a previous owner I wonder. Its looks like it is under tension in the photo, as the bar is bent.
I've had overtightened truss rods in the workshop that have lifted the fretboard or split the neck. Often the sign of trouble elsewhere.
I'm sure you will overcome it.

I got the neck back together now and put it on the guitar. Strung it up and setting all the heights and doing the intonation. Then test drive a couple days and see how everything settles in.
