Bridge type doesn’t matter

Hi Michael, I think you will find that the acoustic response will suffer using a heavy steel bridge, as would how it is fitted to the top (into a block or at the very end of the guitar).

Hi Taffy, that’s what I was thinking about, the substantial fixing affecting the resonance of the lid.

Hi again, sounds like you worked it out. That style of bridge,with its mass, restricts the loss of vibration to the body so as to keep it in the strings (improving sustain) so helping the pickup to work better. You will get sound when played unplugged but the tonal properties would be lacking.
