I am new to the Community, but after watching a number of videos on YouTube, I am wondering if wearing a hat is required to play a CBG?

Good Lord! I just watched that again, and after all these years, realized he is saying "it's safe to dance," not "it's a safety dance." I get it! Thinking of the IRIS and other religious nut bags that ban music and dance, it makes sense.
No, the title of the song really is Safety Dance.

Now, 'scuse me while I kiss this guy...

Don't Nobody Got No, Mr. Roboto

The (french)  Prime Minister of Canada, Jean Chretien, is making an official state visit to Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. .

When he steps off of the plane, everyone is quite taken aback to see the P.M., wearing  a  magnificent fox hat--like a Daniel Boone's coonskin, only made of fox.

. After the official greetings are over, and the mayor of Moose Jaw has say's ;

"Excuse me, Mr. Prime Minister, but I must ask. I have never seen you wearing this magnificent fox hat before, and I wonder why you chose to wear it to our humble town?"

The P.M. replies: "Well, monsieur mayor, eh, 'dat is quite simple, you see. When I was leaving da 'ouse dis morning, I said to my wife, Aline, I said, 'Aline, I am going to Moose Jaw for dah firs' time today!

And Aline, my wife, she said to me........... 'Moose Jaw? Where da fock's 'at?'"

No, it's not.  But your playing might suffer as your mojo evaporates.  I don't and it does.

Of course, if wearing a hat improved your playing you'd find that true maestros would wear more than one hat.

I count 2, maybe 3 in this photo. It's clear that this gentleman's musical mojo has reaped the benefit of multi-hatting.

He seems well protected from the elements.

Yeah, none of the ZZ Top crew looks cool at all without a hat.

Although in this pic, Rev. Willie G. appears to be wearing a cymbal...

Oh thank goodness. For a minute there, it looked like an antenna to me...

I believe that is a theremin hat. He plays it by moving his jaw. Quite the one-man band, he is.
Theremin Hat. Good band name. Hmm.
