License Plate Guitar with Bob Harrison handwound pickup

Trying out a new 4 string guitar..I made this with a Bob Harrison handwound pickup. Very pleased with the sound, nice warm sound with a rich sound in the middle register, and overdrives with my amp just fine.

In fact, it turned out so well, I sold it within the first 1/2 hour of the NorthWest Guitar Show!!!

CJ- excellent video!  That's a beautiful instrument and that pick-up by Bob Harrison sounds amazing.  Better than any I have found so far!  But I haven't tried Juju's pups yet, and I have to add that Skeesix makes a great pup as well.... but I am so impressed with that pup that Bob built!!  Great job!!!

CJ...you're not necessarily doing anything wrong as such..but with only a couple of guitars built, you need to keep building and putting them out there. It takes time to build up a reputation and clientelle...I've been building them for several years now, and it's been a long slow haul. Having a website is fine, but driving business to it isn't easy - eBay is where most people start. The fees from eBay and PayPal will take a chunk of your profit, but it puts the goods out to a potentially huge audience.  There's lots of competition too..ranging from people almost giving stuff away to the established top-dollar builders.

There's no magic start-up fix-  you need a good product, you need to be able to show it off sounding at it's best, the price has to be right (that's the real tough part)...and you need to be prepared to be slog at it and put in the hours for a long time.

John, I always enjoy your instruments and you playing. Your videos are one of the reasons that I started making these addicting instruments. I just wish I could sell some of them.  Unfortunately, I live in the middle of nowhere and though I have a website:asharpguitars.intuitwebsites.com  and have e-mailed everyone I know, I just can't seem to get the sales going. I have sold two and am building one for a friend but that is it so far. What am I doing wrong?
