Comment by David West on April 20, 2010 at 4:06pm: Interesting day today. I finished up a baritone ukulele cbg. I was making it for the cigar smoking lounge where I have been getting my cigar boxes. I took it in to show them...it was done except for the oil finish. A customer asked how much I sell them for. He offered $150 on the spot for the unfinished uke. I need to make a new one for the cigar shop now..lol.

Comment by Julian Perry on April 5, 2010 at 9:32pm: Cheers for the advice guys, I have tightened the screws in the ends of the tuning pegs, which has helped, cos they seemed to be turning back a little under the string tension, and it has all settled down nicely now. Time to learn some tunes!

congratulations on finding such an instrument at such a great price. Ozark details are indeed sketchy.

Aquila strings (not my favourite) like all ukulele strings do take some 'playing in'. There are suggestions for helping the strings settle at several of the ukulele web sites. I assume that the tuners (if they are of the friction type) are correctly set up?
