Try http://www.ekips.org/tools/guitar/fretfind2d/

Just tell it how long your scale length is (nut to bridge) and it will give you the measurements. It will even let you download a pdf with a pattern if you'd rather transfer the marks instead of measuring.

The other fret method I've seen for canjo's is dulcimer fretting, Stewmac has those as well on the fret calculator.

for dulcimer fretting, use frets 0 (nut) 2 4 5 7 9 11 12

and leave out frets 1 3 6 8 and 10.

Totally agree but if you select dulcimer as your instrument it leaves them out for you, one less thing to mess up.

Measure twice, erase pencil marks, redo math, measure twice again, cut once, curse like a sailor as it's still wrong, lol

It would sound sweet done totally backwards - only keep frets 1 3 6 8 and 10!  Remiclud fretting?
