Excuse me if this has been dealt with already. I searched for it, but all I found were table saw jigs.
I just bought a sliding compound miter saw. I want to make 15 degree necks. Can anyone point me in the right direction for how to proceed? Do I need a jig (which one) or can the settings be tweaked to cut it it more easily? Thanks

Look up in videos "scarf joint cut on chop saw simple jig" I just reversed the jig and chop saw positions as the fence/ jig is 90 degrees and the chop saw is set to 15 degrees. But same idea. Use the clamps to hold neck to jig but not in area that could interfere with the cut. Hope this helps
Here's a shot of necks I have done that way. It makes it easy to repeat to your hearts desire.

Maybe this will be helpful - I made a simple jig for my saw, hopefully the pictures show it ok.  I clamp the jig to the saw, and clamp the neck to the jig (clamps not shown).  I used two layers of plywood so the neck could pass thru the blade area and clear everything.  Try it on some scrap and you will easily see if everything is square.  If you make one like this, think thru where screws need to be too!
