Is soddering a must? Can I just tape the wires together or use wire nuts?

Keep in mind I have no idea what I'm actually talking about.

This may be a very stupid question.

If you're going to put in any type of volume or tone controls, soldering is definately a must. It is still the prefered method even if you wire straight to the input jack.
Learn to solder. It's much easier than doing any work-around and being sure it will work.
Aaargh....!!!! No matter how you pronounce it...it's SOLDERING...with an "l", not "dd" in the middle. Rant over.

Buy a soldering iron and some flux-cored solder..probably cost you no more than $20 total. It's easy.
So soldering is a must. Got it.
Soldering is very simple. Less is more when it comes to soldering. Remember the soldering iron must be really f-ing hot and the wire must be really hot otherwise it looks like a bird took a crap on it. Other than that take your time and don't burn your house down.
soldering is your friend

There are complete, prewired circuits available where all you need to do is drill a hole for the jack if you lack the confidence or funds.

Where does one find these and how much do they cost? I'm basically just looking to put Piezo's into my Honkeysticks.
Looks pretty Ted. But I'm trying to keep my budget down. Maybe once I sell a couple I'll give it a shot. Thank you for your advice.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm just trying to sell you something, but a lot of guys here have had great results with my Tesla Transducer internal piezo & jack.

Ted's prices for his transducer and wired harness are really good if you don't have the setup to build your own stuff. But, as most others have already said if you do have a soldering iron and a piece of solder it is not real hard to do your own soldering. Heck, the hardest part is figuring out how to hold everything still while you are trying to solder a joint. There are times that a 3rd hand would really come in handy!

If you can find a soldering iron and a piece of solder take a few scrap wires and do a little practice work. It'll come to you pretty quickly. If you have the skills to build a CBG you should be able to solder a joint with a little practice.

OK.... Honkeysticks is a new term on me.
What is it?
Until I took up CBG making I had no idea about soldering or any electronic stuff. Now I have even built my own amplifier.... from a kit I hasten to add.

Go do it.
Ted, My problem with buying a transducer pre made is that I have (up to now) considered that anything I have to do with CBG "must" be DIY. That is why I learnt to solder and did my own electronics for the CBG.

Now, I have got over that (I know that I can do it) and will find your "Rolls Royce" product and buy it! :) I hope it will help put bread into the mouths of your children and coal on the fire. :)

Oh, it might make my guitars sound better too!
