First CBG - Different kind of box.

At lunch today I picked up 3 boxes at a local Cigar shop.  One of these i liked for these reasons, almost all of the wood is exposed, it has a lid that slides in and out in a dado and the bottom is very thin which I think could make a decent soundboard for an acoustic.   So what you see in the picture will become the back.  So most of the guitars I see here have a top that closes over the neck.  I this I will need to cut a hole on the side of the soundbox and slide the neck in.

Sure it will work, I made an Arturo Fuente upside down once. Just measure twice cut once. Cutting the opening is a bit harder on the closed side. I drilled a hole and cut it with a sabre saw. Yours should make a nice sounding box.

oooh buddy, i like that. The box behind is one of my favorite boxes to build with   hinged Partagas box, ain't it? I've built my two faves that i play with those boxes. I love it when i find one of those. Welcome to the Nation.

Yup, I did my latest (the modified 8 string) upside down. Mine works best as an electric, though. GOOD LUCK!

yep that hinged box is sweet, it is bigger so I was thinking something in a baritone scale.
