Vintage Guitar Ebay Search (Restorations and Treasures)

Hello,

I spend too many hours searching on www.ebay.com, but being a flea market fan, I am addicted to this virtual marketplace. I have found many wonderful instruments over the years, but even though, I am not buying like I would in the past, I still enjoy the hunt.

So, I thought I would post active auction of item that might interest my friends.

Unfortunately, I cannot remove the posts, so please start with the most current post to view current auction items.

Considering many of you have gained good building skills from making CBGs, refurbishing vintage instruments could be a very lucrative next step.

Interesting... I did'nt know they built faux resos back then.

Thank you Wade for you comment. Yes, this is the infamous faux resonator. Just a regular guitar with a cover plate that is made to appear like a reso. They manufactured these in the 1930s / 40s as an alternative to the popular expensive resonator guitar.

Thank you Wade for your response. A resonator guitar back in the 1930s starts at $24.65. A basic regular guitar $3.49 (1935 Sears catalog prices) So, manufacturers took advantage of the Hawaiian music craze, by making affordable fakes. Just a regular guitar with a decorative cover plate. Enjoy.

hello vintage guitar fans---i just placed 5 listings here for all to see----but if you look close all these same listings are from the same seller. well this is the vintage guitar madness place to look.this seller has over 300 listings of very rare and unusual guitars and amplifiers,nearly all of these listings have multiple bids and many listings have bids that go into double digits. to see many nice vintage guitars and see bidders having a great time trying to score very cool rare guitars and amplifiers---this is a place to watch for great entertainment and possibly great deals on very valuable instruments and amplifiers that are the stuff that have created legends in the music world. thanks keni lee for the link to the e-bay vintage musical instrument history.

I just won an old Oahu flat top fixer-upper from this seller. Haven't received it yet. From what I can tell, it only needs a bridge (easy fix). It's AMAZING all the goods this seller has!! Claims to travel the USA for his finds, I should be so lucky! Also claims NOT to be a guitar expert (?), with all he peddles, he knows more about vintage wood than the average joe I bet. Thanks for sharing & good luck to all who try for his wares.
