Hey again everyone!

Ok, as an ex engineer and mad inventor, i want to know what you would consider in your basic/ must have cbg build kit. Oh and throw in pics of tools, gadgets and your creation station! ☺ and feel free to add me as a friend!

Handtools only, does an 'lectric drill count? a nice bit of cutoff that has a good square end with a line marked up the middle works as a guide for drilling holes mostly straight up and down.

A good sharp fine tooth saw for cutting notches in the box and necks to length

rasps and files and sandpaper.

Yeah, i said hand tools, but that does include cordless piwer tools despite the inaccuracies that come with them. Buildimg a good selection of hand saws although definatly need more clamps and rasps/files. Maybe a small router in the near future ☺
I love my micro band saw sits on the bench any radius or curves easy as my next get is a fretting saw

Wow, that really is a micro bandsaw! But looks super handy and perfect for the job. One day ill have a workshop that i can fill with all the tools, one can dream ☺
Yes its a ripper it has a saws all blade on it and I cut street class bone brass shell tiles stacks of stuff and for $600 squilla its played me back 30 times over making my tattooing machine side plates .
Made the mistake of stopping by HF today to pick up some sandpaper. Bad idea! 45mins later i leave the store with a belt sander, extra belts, new 12pc file set, forstner bit set, extension cord, new hand saw and a receipt the length of my arm! Oh and NO sanding sheets!! Could have been so much worse but its not payday til friday.

Heh, that was like walking into the candy store planning on buying one jelly bean. :)

Even if you already have a vice, put one of these on your HF shopping list:

and when your on your way home after you get it, stop by a 2nd hand store and pick up a 2" wide leather belt - glue strips of leather on the jaws faces. You'll thank me latter.

Thanks Clark. At the moment im using a workmate style bench and a combination for clamps to hold pieces in place. Seems to be working well so far but when i get a proper work bench it will have at least one vice. I like the tip of the leather soft jaws. ☺

Nothing wrong with a workmate, I do a lot of work on mine.

Yeah, i love them as a multipurpose portable bench, just wish i'd got one with height adjustment. Being 6'5 involves lots of bending over and isnt the ideal workimg height. But... it was cheap and folds up outta the way

I hear you. A shop stool has helped me a lot.

extend the legs somehow Mike, at 6-5, nothing good for you bent over like that
