I've been using an electro-etching process. To get he image on the copper I use a laser toner transfer method. The plate then goes into a salt water bath. The positive terminal of a power source gets hooked up to the copper plate and the negative end connects to a stainless steel cooking rack. An hour later I get a decent etch.

I know there are more efficient ways of doing it then how I am. I'm currently using a car battery charger and salt water. I've ordered a tattoo gun power supply which will give me control over the voltage. I'm also trying to find copper sulphate as it is a much better electrolyte for copper. It's easy and cheap to get in the US, not so much in Canada. I can either buy 300 grams for $25 or 25kg for $125.

I was thinking about doing a detailed blog post explaining the process. Stay tuned....

I can see your resonator colour method and this one coming together to have shiny babies.

Very cool.

Love the etching!  I have a "post" question.  How do you get the pic to show up in your post?  On my post it is a file name you have to click on.

Thanks,  Matt

Thank you!

This is from a steampunk build.

Ooh cool. I really like that.

OH cool! I'm adding an eye to one of mine and I like that keyhole idea!!

Something I'm experimenting with now is using the cutoffs from headstocks to make new headstocks, so they end up kind of like negative headstocks of ones like these etc. I guess I just can not throw wood away!

First 7 piece lam headstock, have a cool item going in that hole...more later.

first 3 piece neck, and yes my workbench also doubles as my transportation :)

my there are some really nice heads guys cheers.
