I have seen and read the post about making a piezo pickup and have bought some and need help with pics on how to solder the wires on as the ones I have are wireless. Thanks.

Kevin,
Not really sure as to a few things here. Are you saying that the piezo you have has no wires? Can you post a pic?
They are just the disks I got off ebay and they have no wires soldered to them.....
Do they look like:

So, just the disk, no wires. Nothing. Red goes on the silver part. Black on the brass part.

BTW, you can get them for about $2 at Radio Shack
They look like the disk with NO WIRES..... I can solder them just wanted a heads up before I started and messed them up. I have a 20 pack and wanted to get some ready to go for the builds I have going. I got a much better deal on them than just buying them at Radio Shack.

I suppose. Hey, what ever works.
OK now that you know what I have you say, "OK WHAT EVER WORKS" ? I am confused you trying to help or just wasting my time?
Thanks Ted and yes they are the ones and I bought them after you sent me the post. I will get them soldered up tonight.
I have 10 of those, haven't used them yet but getting ready to. It's the best way to buy then, I think.
If you just have the disc's with out the wires I use a piece of copper conductive tape on both sides.Just a small piece on the crystal part then go ahead and solder your own wiring.
Kevin,
You can solder to them but doing some prep will help. Tin your wires first by heating the bare wire and melting some solder on it. Then melt a blob of solder on the two parts of the piezo, one on the brass, one on the white (be careful on the white, too much heat will pull the white coating off, you can do it in another place if this happens) With the two areas preped you can solder them together more easily and more quickly. I always try to secure the wires somehow as they pull off the disc very easily. Also be sure to test each disc out before you install: a cold solder joint will look good but won't work.

Good luck and be patient (decide before hand that your going to sacrifice one as practice if you've never soldered one before)
For hard to solder piezos, try some soldering flux. The type I got a radio shack is a rosin flux, even smells like tree rosin. I gather it both removes/prevents oxidation on the hard to solder metals (oxidation which can form nearly instantly at soldering temps) and helps with surface tension (I just read that on wikipedia). The result is the solder flows super easily and sticks well to some metals it wouldn't stick to without it.
