Thanks man :o) I took it to the Haydock guitar show last weekend and had a blast with it - the number of people who took a pic of it was amazing! Im sure the guys with the £6000 fenders and gibsons on the next stand hated it though!! lol All good publicity though :o)
Cheers man

Cheers mate. It was actually cut from a piece of alluminium 'U' section which was part of a sliding door frame. I like these screw on nut's, cos I can replace them easily if I cut the slots too deep and need to raise the string heights!

Isnt it a pain when living and real life get in the way of guitar building????

Sorry case of mistaken identity. Besides i am in York pa USA i belive you are not here in town. Please continue with your addiction sorry for the interruption. I've been working all night in the garage on my addiction, Cut some support blocks for under the neck and corners of the box. Also make a fret blade tool but it fist test failed. Routed out a shallow pocket in the neck under the lid for the piezo. Also make a tuner peg winder for the electric drill.

Thanks you for the invite!
I seem to be getting all the help from this great cigarboxnation site along with the web in general. I also belive in trial and error to an extent with help from the others who have experience with trial and error I can cut down on the error part. I do like that any thing goes as to what sound we are looking for. Example for me was I was going to use a plexi glass (plastic) nut and bridge set up. I strung it up that way and tested it with a piezo. Then I used metal bolts as nut and bridge wow what a difference in tones. Now I'm going with the metal bolts for my first build. Are you the Kite enthusiast? And did I recognize you at First Capital this Wednesday?

No kidding eat, drink, sleep, CBG total obcession for now. Just a few things to finish up on my first one. To much planing and not enough building right now. Started a plan list to stick to it. Then comes the diy amp and bone slides and on and on. When will I have time to play if all I do is plan a build.

Sounds like you have it sorted! The foil is great to practice with but sounds awfully dead in a guitar. If you can spin a pie dish without it tearing though, youll have no problem spinning something thicker.
The fest is to be on the 16th October - if you have a look in 'the brits are coming' group, there is a discussion with some info.
See you there!!

Good show young man :o) Remember - slower is safer!!
What material are you using? And is your former concave or convex? I tried convex first and failed in spectacular fashion - though thats the way the pros do it.
Let me know how you get on.
Cheers, B
