Being a personal fan of the Steampunk genre and of industrial/mechanical-themed art in general, scrolling through the list of this year's entries is really a treat. Once again I am blown away by the creativity and ingenuity of the builders who congregate on CBN, and I certainly don't envy the hard choices the judges had to make.

First Place ($250.00 prize pack): Tom Thompson
Second Place: ($125.00 prize pack): Michael Naiman
Third Place: ($75.00 prize pack): Graeme
Fourth Place: ($50.00 prize pack) John Bernyk

Note: Keith Alan, the original first place winner, has chosen to withdraw his entry, so we have bumped everyone up one step.

As an added bonus this year (see first comment below for reasons) every non-winning entry will get a $25.00 coupon code usable at the Cigar Box Guitar superstore, http://www.cbgitty.com.

Congratulations to the winners, and a hearty "good job" to all of you! In the next week or so, I will be sending messages to the winners and all other entrants via private message here on CBN to provide info on your prize packs and coupon codes.

Thank you,

Ben/C. B. Gitty

Congratulations to all the entrants, there was some mighty fine craftsmanship and some amazing creativity going on. What a great idea for a contest, it allowed you all to let your imaginations run wild, and wild did they run!

Thanks to the judges, and thanks to you, Ben for a wise and fair handling of the results - I think you were more than fair.

Congrats to the winners (and the rest of us too.)
Thanks Ben for all your work on this and for the generosity shown.
Dan and the judges are in line for a huge round of thanks as well.

As for any controversy - past or yet to come - just remember in most things you pay your money and you take your chances. How you deal with what happens after that is up to you.

For me this was a chance to build something (right now that is almost better than winning a prize), to make an instrument that is out of the ordinary and to pay a tribute to my granddad. That made it worth it.

well done all, great builds, thanks to dan and ben for orginising, ben again for awards, and the judges especially ,tough job done well

where are the winning photos ??

thankyou

Keith Alan has informed me that he wishes to withdraw his entry and forfeit his prize. We'll figure out the best way to handle this and post an update in the next day or two. In the meantime, I have sent out all of the $25 coupon codes to non-winning entrants.

man Keith deserved it . that sucks . on the coupon code is that in my email ? cant seem to find it .

Make sure you check your spam or junk mail folder.

Check your PM inbox here. That's where I got mine.

That was a great guitar and I'm still not sure I saw all the elements in that awesome headstock. That one part had so much detail.  Stinks to see it withdrawn.

agreed . that headstock knocked me off my feet . there was so many awesome builds in this . i just hope the controversy doesnt effect having another competition . this was my first one and i had alot of fun . We all knew we had a chance of not winning a damn thing and we all still got something ... except for the man who won 1st place . ok just checked my email on here and my regular email . nothing . i really want to get me some nut files and some parts . having a coupon helps win over the wife lol .
