Get them to stay together? It's really difficult to drill . And I'm not a welder. Any thoughts or ideas appreciated.

Normally I would not recommend any type of glue, but this might seem to be the perfect situation for some JB Weld.

you should be able to drill it,stainless is harder than steel, but at a slower speed it is certainly drillable with a good bit,you may find it easier if you reduce the included angle of the drill tip a couple of degrees

Yes. I think this is my best option. I had bought a drill bit for drilling through metal...I lost it ...Looking for it. Thank you. I'll find it or buy it again. Organization with the tools ...huh
I have every drill bit but the one I need. There are all for wood and kinda cheap. Well I guess it will be worth the wait until I can do it right. managed to drill a hole through the bowls center but looks like the edges are gonna need some good planning and a good bit
Well now I'm not too sure it's a good idea...my drill is a black and decker somewhat cheaper model. There's only a small amount of a ridge to drill even if I did...seems slippery and might make too much of a dent? I basically want to keep to bowl and stove top burner protector fixed together. They almost stay in place with string tension but as I tighten the strings more and more the bowl inches forward ...I'm wondering if some sort of epoxy as mentioned before is best? its a prototype kinda guitar. It's a cool looking thing and makes sound that's for sure....
Clamps. Small metal clamps, kinda like turnbuckles.
I look that up....thanks
Hmm interesting those look alright ..made me think of those metal window locks ...or something like that...I'll check out the hardware store...

Could you show us a picture. We might have some more ideas if we could see it.

Used a longer piece of wood since photo was taken...

jon, still think it,s very drillable, mark holes with sharp punch to prevent wander and you should be o.k.otherwise,just put a series of centre punch indeents in bottom plate, from the bottom ,in line of foreward edge of bowl, with string tension it shouldn,t take much to keep it in place

It's the bottom bowl that's thicker and a but more problematic (short kinda thick ridges)...here's the bottom bowl...
