Yea, post some pics. I have one that I goofed up on too, so I would be interested to see how I can salvage it.

you could make a brace out of a thin wood panel to fit in the side, with the correct neck cut in it. I have ran into this on cardboard boxes, as long as the panel fits snug and has the right neck grove you should be okay. You could even put some wood filler in to distract from the repair. but pics would help, and there might be a better fix than this one.

Depending on the size of the damage I've used felt cut and fitted into the section so it looked more like a cushioning set up rather then a goof up fixer lol

If you have some felt that is a different or contrasting color but that just "looks" right you can turn the goof up into a "carefully planned and executed styling move."

I used the part of the box to repair my neck cutout ( the part I cut out for the neck to go through ) I just cut it down and glued it to the neck.
