if  you  want to  skip  the volume and tone   pots      and wire  straight to   jack  ..  you  should be   fine ,,   and  probably  won't   even  have to  ground your strings  .

when  doing  so  ..  test  the  wires  on the jack       if  it  sounds  a bit   fuzzy one way   ..  switch  them    around .

You might get away with not grounding the strings and you might not. If not tho, it's a real pain in the butt to do later. If you can't do it at the bridge the next easiest way is at the tailpiece, cos otherwise you gotta run a wire inside the neck up to a tuner or zero fret.

If you look at this tailpiece there's a bit of sheet steel laminated into it. The output jack screws into the centre hole there, so the steel earths to the jacks chassis

In this one there's a fret just beyond the box, and a wire tunnels up to that fret from beneath

my advice - do not glue anything shut! that way you can access your wiring. I also like making an access panel in the back.

if you take your time heavy aluminum foil will work to ground cavities in a pinch.

thanks ror the help guys,your 1st photo,kid,is close to what i intende,but was just going to sink strings in ferrules in tail,i,llrethink it and incorperate some metal in case it is required,i assume that if required earth must get all strings?
