We all do Dave - unless you talk to folks in the churches I grew up in. In that case you have no relationship to those cousins who share 90% of our genome. Okay, maybe 99% in some of our cases!

Also Dave, I think you're right about all those noises being good - when you want them. If you find yourself playing a slower tune and don't want them it's hard to achieve without a lot of practice. A related thing is this. I was recently in a recording studio and the engineer was bugged by my squeaks on wound strings. Those sounds are part of guitar playing to my ears but they bugged the hell out of the engineer. If you listen to world class classical guitar players those squeaks become integral to the music. Still, I adjusted my playing for the engineer to lessen the squeaks since it was someone else's dollar paying for the project

Damn slouching monkey guitar players! In spite of everything I mentioned in this vid, I'm a firm believer in doing what works for you as an individual. If my fret boards were as pretty as yours Dave I'd probably look at them more too.
