Well dammit

Lost two friends today within 24 hours. One was a well known rockabilly guitarist and bass player for Danny Gatton and the Fat Boys.  Billy Hancock used to come to my gigs and be real supportive of what I was playing.

The second friend was less well known but we played gigs together since we were teenagers. Here's to you Chuck B

Been Away

Posted on August 30, 2015 at 8:10am 14 Comments

I've kind of been away from these pages and from making instruments for the last month or so. Lots of other demands on my time from other folks and other responsibilities. I've missed it! Now that summer's winding down and the firewood pile is building up I plan to get back to doing what I love - making and playing these things. I went to the PA CBG Fest this weekend and feel rejuvenated. Got to play on the open mic stage and meet a bunch of talented people. It was great to talk to J.Rob…

I thought so too but, when I tried to send you a message you didn't appear in the list.  Anyway, I know you are a busy fella but let me know if you are interested in the Fade to Black tune.  AP says you are the perfect guy and he has plans for a video as well. I don't have any time table on it, just at your leisure if you are interested.

Well Jim,

Based on the number of variables involved I think I will forward your pricing info. I may try to do a fiddle build but would have to fine tune my skills before a sellable one is complete. My customer is looking for Christmas. What is your lead time and what info would you need?

Thanks,

Jeff

Hi Jim,

Its been a while since I have been here but I have been busy. Quick question. I have a customer who has bought three of my guitars and his wife plays violin and he is interested in a CB fiddle. 1) How much is one of yours? 2) How difficult are they to build? I don't think my knowledge base with violins/fiddle is strong enough to do a quality build that would meet the standard for selling one. Hope all is well,Jeff

"Thanks for the demo. Is there much difference in volume and tone between the 2 p/u's?" - Jim.... tone wise, I think the 7.50 might be a lil darker.
