Nice work David, is that a self build CBG cos it truely is a thing of beauty!

I am pleased you made this because it alowed me to do a specific sound comparison and i actually found myself prefering the Piezo sound over the Magnetic, so thats nice!

PLEASE NOTE - It is a bit quiet but if you move the mouse arrow over the bottom of the video window a tool bar will show and you can turn the volume up at the speaker icon.

Thanks david. I use bezdez as a main supplier. Love the store and seem to find everything I need there at a better price than elswhere. thanks for the advice. I'm not big on using disc piezos or at least not the cheap ones. I plan on having a humbucker and a preamp and piezos set-up to a three way toggle. Artec has a surface mount piezo with a 2.5 mm jack for around 20 bucks. Kind of pricey but hopefully you get what you pay for as people like to say.Can't help but wonder how the piezo would sound if it was attatched  to the underside of the metal bridge plate...hmm.. might be too trebly. Thanks again for your help.

david, I have a dilema that you may be able to help me with. I have a preamp with a rod piezo set-up, however I want to use a hardtail bridge. this idea pretty much eliminates the use of the rod piezo. I noticed you have piezo's and a hardtail bridge. Are you using a disc piezo inside of the box and if so are you splicing the piezo into a 2.5mm jack for the preamp or are you purchasing a contact or surface piezo with a 2.5mm jack already installed? these can get pricey, but I want to ensure that any piezo i use will not sound weak with a hardtail bridge. Any help with this would be great. Your guitar sounds great by the way!

This is very interesting (well, for me anyway) as taming piezo pickjps and combining them with magnetic pickups is something that I keep thinking I ought to experiment with but haven't really got round to..it's always on my "to do" list!

This is a great demo David. Although the sound clip volume is a bit low and I couldn't hear
all of what you were commenting, the different tones, electrical and acoustic are what
I'm seeking as well. I'm still gathering info before I decide on the electrical components,
but from the sounds of yours..that's the direction, I think I'm going as well.

Is that a actual cigar box? It looks a bit larger than the one I have. I'm trying to keep my
first CBG project relatively simple..ha! Right now, I'm working on laminating two necks,
one for the proto type and one for the larger CB,. I think I will make it a bit larger from
thin sheets of spanish cedar (like the neck) and make the dovetail/box corners myself.

I'm a bit concerned about the lack of space on my 9 x 8.5 CB and it may be hard to
squeeze in all the extra components like the 5 way..but time will tell.

Great demo!..and thanks for showing it to us.

David, Just watched this. Congrats! This sounds really great.

Quite happy with your results, myself. I like the Humidor box, too. My 30' bass uses one, but not a nice.
