1 string fiddle??

Anyone know what this is??...I bought it about 30yrs ago from a market...was told it was a 1 string fiddle but not really sure what it is : -/

wow! Wanna sell it?!!?! LOL! I am not sure what it is, but it looks like a eastern European or Russian instrument. The triangular shape leads me to believe that is similar to a Balalaika (usually 3-stringed). If you google that name, you'll see something very similar.... but then again, it could also be a knock-off from that instrument and has been turned into a fiddle, as others have suggested....

Looks very similar to the Vaudeville Fiddles, but with a custom body.

Wow! it looks like, yes, you need a bridge. But you also need a bow! it looks like a fiddle all right.
But you could use it as a diddley bo too! when you put the string in, the tuner will probably stay put with the tension.
you can use anything for a bridge. wood might look really nice.
