Good morning guys. Firstly, thank you all for what you are doing for serving members and veterans! I think, here in the UK, we have a long way to go before our boys and girls in the armed forces are recognised and appreciated as they are across the…Continue

Good afternoon,I am a huge guitar fan! I am a mediocre player though (ha). I bought an acoustic when I was younger and taught myself the basics and that progressed to me jamming with my friends. It is such a great hobby and I enjoy playing with…Continue

Just wondering how a "CBG for Service Members Sponsorship Program" would work. People who aren't skilled builders providing some financial support builders who have trouble "affording" providing a CBG with shipping and all?
Rusty,Welcome aboard! Most overseas shipments are to an APO address, and run $16-20 for USPS Priority Mail. Watch your carton size - an inch here or there can make a big difference. We knock apart cardboard boxes and cut and fold them custom to the guitar. We fit it close, with no padding sides or bottom, and just an inch over the top.
Considering the 'payments' the Service Members are making to this country, it's just a drop in the bucket and we don't mind paying it.
I am looking forward to participating in this when a service member posts. How much does it cost to ship a cbg overseas? Is there a less expensive way to do it?
Hi all, I am the guy in the picture on this forum. My name is Matt Borczon and 5 years ago I was stationed on Camp Bastion in Afghanistan. Wichita Sam sent me a guitar, it is in the picture. Later Diane from Chicago built me a dulcijo that is still one of my treasured instruments. This started a movement that became this group. So on this veterans day I just want to say thank you to all you builders who have helped out all our servicemen. You can not imagine the incredible feeling it is to open a package out in the desert and receive the gift of music in such a unique and incredible way. The good you do for all our troops is beyond measure. I am so proud to be a small part of all of this but it is you who build for our guys who deserve all the thanks. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING.....HM1 Matthew Borczon USNR
your lucky over in the US, i wanted to send a CBG over to a british service man/woman, (i'm in the UK) but after contacing the MOD, they would'nt let me send one, said there was more important item's to be loaded on to plane's, helicopter's etc, at least i tried,
I'm thrilled to be a part of this group. As a veteran, I served in the Navy and packed a ukulele everywhere I was deployed. A tradition carried on from my Grandfather, who survived 2 wars with his uke. I've continued to serve by donating my time and talent, performing at VA Hospitals throughout California and donate my camouflage "Pocket-Leles" to a group called "Ukes For Troops," sending ukuleles overseas. God bless this group and its efforts!
Will, What I understand is that they provide a traditional 6 string and lessons to the vets.
Hi Will, nope, I have never heard of them.
Has anyone here worked with G4V (Guitars For Veterans Program in Veterans Medical Centers)?
Just got this SPAM through this Group:
