I would like to know the best Piezo location for the best sound quality and why. I know there are many different opinions on this subject. I personally like to locate 2 piezo inside the bridge, this…Continue

Hi,I just tried my first rod-piezo, mounted under the saddle of the bridge. I was rather underwhelmed. The sound was just fine, a bit more mellow than my usual disc type piezo, but the volume was so…Continue

The circuit below provides a theoretical -15dB notch from 400Hz to 4KHz. The first stage, J1, is the buffer that I plan on trying first.

Using a JFET Preamp with a piezo pickup
A schematic is in the article...very easy to build. I'm having feedback problems with my piezo mounting. As I've already glued the piezo to the CBG, I'll try the preamp first before tearing out the piezo.
The link above is a tutorial on intalling a piezo pickup in a cheap acoustic guitar. I found it interesting that it says to mount the piezo with 50% of it hanging in thin air.
If piezo sounds good in their packaging then use. If not don't use.
