OK I ordered a neck from BigLou Guitars, with a 2 inch wide nut.25.00 plus 10.00 shipping. yes 2 inch nut.. they came in without the 22nd fret. ONLY 21. anyway these were supposed to be 25 1/2 but NOT to be the case.. It seems to be 25.4... per wfret... and it seems like the frets line up close to perfect for this template...  12 13/16 to the 12th fret

Question

1. What is the distance from the nut to the bridge?

2. These were supposed to fit on a fender/squire but I don't think the frets line up... Other then make the guitar what are my options?

The 25.4 threw me a bit..

Um, Wayfinder it's not the nut end that bolts to the body. :-P

(BigLou sells necks for people with man size hands. I have one on my Tele.)

o_O If you can't remember which end the nuts are on...

I love mine, now keep in mind it is a Fender style neck so has a radius. It's not too much but will feel different from your flat classical neck.

I think you are worrying over nothing. Have you taken this up with the supplier? That should always be your first call rather than asking for opinions on a web forum. Just looked at this..on their website is says these necks are only 21 frets, as they are factory seconds..it says so on their website, that's why they are selling them cheap.

If the neck measures 12 13/16" to the 12th fret, then your scale length is 25 5/8"...just over 25 1/2" and well within the limits of what a standard adjustable Fender style bridge will adjust to. Likewise, if it really is 25.4", it's still within tolerance of an ordinary adjustable bridge.

By the way, on their website it doesn't say what the scale length is, but anyone making replacement Fender style necks will be working on a stock 25 1/2" scale length as it's an industry standard.

You say it "seems" to be...aren't you sure?  To check it you need to measure with an accurate steel rule (not a tape measure or a wooden or a plastic rule). Don't try comparing it with a paper printout of a fret template, as paper templates are unreliable in terms of accuracy inaccurate due to slop in the printer, variations in the paper etc.

You're fine, bolt it on.

You may need to readjust your saddles slightly for proper intonation.

ChickenboneJohn Actually if you look at their guitars that use these necks it says 25.5. They also sell exact replacement for the fender which YES is 25.5.. Second your 1st paragraph is the reason NOT to get back in touch with them.. It's a second, scratch and dent sale and not really worth it for 35.00.

Your measurement of 25 5/8 is perfect and helps. .. "seems" to be". I guess is the same as an assumption, my mistake..

I don't own a fender but I did forget about the saddles and adjustments... perfect...

The last reason I posted for help, was for... wait for it.... help... and also to let everyone know this is a good neck, great price and with a little help from  my friends I can do something with it..   Thanks for all the input.

When buying necks "25.5" really means "kinda sort close but not necessarily" , take an accurate measurement and adjust the saddles.

Doesn't matter where you buy the neck there will be variations in finished length.

I had to do some minor sanding to fit mine into the pocket.
