metal woman's nail file, or, thin piece of metal with sandpaper wrapped around it, or thin saw blade, steak knife, take your time, most anything thin and abrasive will work, just go slow as not to file too much or too wide, will cause string buzz.
And Welcome to the site!!
thank you man for the advice
Welcome to the forum, Romain. Most of us start out with the tools we have on hand. I think that is a fun part of the experience of building. Looking forward to seeing your project.
i will post photos soon by the way i want to know if my tuner peg need to be 90 degrees i will show you my neck and told me by you're exprerience if is important or not to have a 90 degrees tuner peg for have the right string adjustment me it a open gdg tuning and i have an extended neck from cbgitty
Romain, it looks like you are well on your way on your build. It is looking real good. You asked about 90 degree tuners, and I think I see one peeking out behind the neck in one of your photos. That is the style that most builders seem to use on cigar box gits. Get the nut set right, and you should not have any problems tuning with the scarf joint neck. I will offer a comment for you to think about on your next build...multiple sound holes on the face of the git can be very ornate, but are not required for ample sound from the box. I've built gits with a 1" hole that transmitted plenty of sound, and my acoustic-only builds usually have a sound hole 1 1/2"-2" in diameter. The git you're building appears to be electric, so it could be full of holes, I guess. I think the acoustic properties could be compromised on any build with many holes disturbing the vibration of the face of the box. Now, I'm no expert (there are plenty in this forum who can be helpful), and I'm not being critical. Just offering up what might be a helpful, experienced tip to another builder. Happy buildin'.
Thank Grandpa for you're advice i hope that will not compromited the sound of my acoustic use
because i don't know how to build first this cigar box guitar is my second because the first guitar i don't have many ressource than today with lot of website talk about that i start from make magazine talk about it and some quebecker who star daddymojo to build cigar box guitar me i

so i give you new soon thank for you're help at this time
Romain, your build is great. No need to make any changes on this one. Git building is about learning and improving, for ourselves.Thankfully, many builders in this forum share their positive and negative experiences, so others can learn. Build what you like, design and decorate as you like. It's yours, my man, so put your stamp on each one. You will continue to find enthusiastic builders looking to your builds for inspiration and ideas. Not many new ideas under the sun, but a lot of interpretation of things that have been done before. Go and get you some of it. Again, happy buildin'.
