As some of you guys may know I have recently sold one of my Biscuit tin guitars.
I got a message from the buyer, says the jack ain't working.
I have told him it may be a simple connection issue on the inside of the tin and that it may of come loose during shipping despite all the wrapping.
I have stated this to him and that I bought the Piezo prewired to a single volume and jack.
Could it be a matter of rough journey to the buyer or use the connection bad when I bought it.

he has stated that he has tried it with two amps and two different cords, so it's the wiring for sure.
opening it up should be too hard, you just have to remove the bridge and the lid comes right off.
if I was to take a guess though, I'd say its a matter of having the volume too low on the guitar or the amp even both at the same time, but I can't tell without having it in front of me, might also be the fact its a single piezo opposed to two, but I've never had issue with that when its hooked into my Mustang amp.
as the Piezo is mounted directly to the lid of the tin itself opposed to anything wooden, he would quickly find out if the volume was turned up as simple stroking the tin can be heard on an amp (a design flaw in my mind to some extent, but that's how I make them).
as for grounding, I don't ground the pot to the bridge, but that is more because they are linked by the tin lid itself as the whole body is metal.
when I hear back from the buyer I can advise him further and I must say thanks for your advise on this, not only is helpful for me and the buyer but for any future builds and projects I have that intend to sell, Its important to build these things properly if people are paying good money for them.
I've got word back from the buyer, he still can't get it to work, I have said it was most likely rough handling during the postage process and have given a set of directions as to how to remove the tin lid and inspect the inside and the wiring.
Hopefully he will be able to find out what is going on in there and fix it.
Maybe he is just trying to get refund,to scam you
I'm starting to think this myself
Well, chit. This has happened to me to, but on at least one that I gifted. Made me feel bad. Also, this kind of thing is why I decided I would gift, not sell.
W8thout knowing exactly what's wrong, I agree with Oily...The default starting point is "customer is right", and I, the product and/or service provider need to make a quality effort to make the customer whole. DT has a point, but my experience in selling gits and amps has been all good. I haven't shipped anything myself, all sales have been made in person. But I have made bridge adjustments, string changes for local clients to help them learn how to service their git. Good experiences are of great value, obviously, when clients tell their friends about you. And these friends are all prospects! If you always take the high road, you may get stung somewhere down the road, you will lose a $ or three, but your rep will be solid. Nobody calls to buy your stuff when people hear you suck, no matter how erroneous the review is.
more updates people, he wants a refund for the guitar, I have stated I am ok with this, but I will only refund him once I have the guitar in my possession again, that way I can avoid being scammed.
He has said he wants me to pay for a new postage label for him to ship it back. I'm not sure as to how reasonable this is, you guys got any thoughts on this.
the postage is £7.57 and I will organise for it to be sent back to me
