Good stuff Shane. Less can be more. I have done a lot of drone key notes with chords for some time, it adds to the chords melody.

Good example, the album Meddle really comes to mind. Lots of early British Invasion Rockers liked to lent the hard riff chords ring out awhile/sustain for some in you face sound.
