Have a piezo wired as in pic. When switched on its fine. Switched off with toggle spdt switch off position (two prong)very noisy. Here's the diagram . Anyone know how to reduce the (off position noise? Thank you.

interesting thank you
Darryl,
I have a small led but have never hooked one up with a piezo, jack and on/off switch. Do you have a diagram? I'd like to at test this theory? Thank you.

If i remember correctly Jon, you had 3 terminals on the switch, if so run your led between your ground terminal, and the UN used other terminal, i thought you had a pic here somewhere showing the actual contacts, but i can't find it, and i'm trying to remember how the contacts worked

Hey thanks Darryl my switch is two terminals so I'm not sure if it's even possible to incorporate an led ....here's the package ...for the mini switch.
Here's the package the switch came in...maybe it's not the right kind of switch?
Switch pic

still no pic Jon,but if only 2 terminals, at the moment you either have the "hot" wire, or the ground wire going through the switch and to the jack, you need to put the led from the input from the piezo terminal, at the switch to the opposite at the jack, so whichever [ground or hot] is bypassing the switch, just try it without soldering at 1st, and see if it helps, actually, as i re think this, i'm not sure it will work as you are probably just by passing the switch, but worth a try

That's ok I appreciate it...not sure why I can't upload...trying again...here it is...
Right now I have an led hooked to a battery and the switch

Here's the led , battery and switch ....not sure how to have this power without a battery...but I'm making some alligator test wires ..

That switch really needs to be hooked up to the piezo and jack to test it for what you need, run the hot wire[red] from the piezo to one terminal of the switch, then from the other terminal to the hot lug of the jack, the black wire from the piezo directly to the ground of the jack, then add the led from the 1st terminal of the switch to the ground of the jack, plug it in and see if there is less noise, also i can't tell if that is glue or solder almost bridging your switch terminals, but clean that up, so there is no likle

ihood of shorting

Having problems uploading a pic ...trying again

Just re thinking [again], Jon, that switch shouldn't really introduce a noise problem unless it's a shielding issue, so for that reason i'd run my ground lead through it rather than my hot lead, and see how that might help
